The Care Guide
Our jewelry is handcrafted using the finest, ethically sourced materials and designed for everyday wear. We put a lot of consideration into the materials we use. Our pieces are made to withstand real life, and with proper jewelry cleaning, they will continue to shine.
Sheila Box jewelry features high-quality materials for everyday wear.
Here are a few ways to keep it looking brand new!
14k Gold Vermeil
Not to be confused with regular gold plating, Our everyday Sheila Box jewelry is primarily created with brass metal that is plated with 14k gold or 14k rose gold meaning it is more accessible, affordable and environment friendly. You get the look & feel of gold jewelry at a fraction of the price. Our jewelry is also nickel-free and lead-free. If a particular piece uses other materials, it will be listed on the product’s description.
How to care for 14k gold vermeil jewelry:
·Excess sweat and water? No thank you.
·Always remove your gold vermeil jewelry before exercising, washing your hands or showering.
·Apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing your gold vermeil pieces.
·To keep your jewelry clean, wipe it with a soft cloth. Do not use jewelry cleaner. When not worn, store your piece in that jewelry box with the strip included to protect it from the elements of daily exposure.
Natural Zircons
Don’t be confused by the name. Zircon is a natural, magnificent, and underrated gemstone that has been worn and treasured since ancient times. It’s not cubic zirconia. Available in many colors, zircon is one of the modern December birthstones and will look wonderful in jewelry if set carefully.
How to care for our Zircons:
·Zircons should be worn carefully to prevent damage
·Use warm water, detergent-free soap and a soft-bristled brush, rinsing the Zircon and setting afterward to ensure there is no residue.
·Do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaners, as this can cause damage.
·Store your Zircon jewelry in a safe, dry place when not worn.
Freshwater Pearls
We use cultured pearls from oysters and freshwater mussels that we carefully select for our pieces.
How to care for our freshwater pearls:
·Pearls are sensitive so don't forget to treat them with love.
·Avoid direct contact with chemicals found in perfume or other cosmetics.
·To help do so, make sure they are the last thing you put on before going out and the first thing you take off when you come home.
